Maxon "Max" Lloyd (January 7, 1927 – May 15, 2019) was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a long-time employee of Western Electric. He was the maternal grandfather of Eric Lloyd Sellars.

Early Life

Max was born on January 7, 1927, in Norton, Texas, to Bus Lloyd and Velma Lloyd.

Military Service

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy (Pacific Fleet) from December 1944 to June 1946, reaching the rank of Seaman First Class.

Career and Life

In 1949, Max began a 37-year career as a Telephone Switch Installer for Western Electric (then a division of AT&T). His work required frequent relocation across the Central Plains until he settled in Dallas, Texas in 1963 at 6446 Ridgemont Dr, which remained his residence for the rest of his life.

In his retirement, he was a prolific oil painter (see The Art of Maxon Lloyd), and was known for his fishing and devotion to his grandchildren.

Family

Max married Annette Coglianese on January 9, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois.
