Eric Lloyd Sellars

Eric Lloyd Sellars (born August 8, 1983) is a Cloudflare employee and former intellectual property attorney currently residing in Austin, Texas.

Early Life and Education

Eric was born on August 8, 1983, in Dallas, Texas, to Keith Sellars and Donna Sellars. He grew up in Garland, Texas and graduated from North Mesquite High School in 2001.

During high school, he was a member of the North Mesquite High School Golf Team. During this period, his parents joined the Dallas Athletic Club, where Eric played frequently throughout his youth.

Following high school, he attended Texas Christian University (TCU) for one year (2001–2002) before transferring to the University of Texas at Austin. At UT, he earned an undergraduate degree in Computer Science. He later attended the University of Houston for Law School.

Marriage and Family

Eric married Erin Sellars on January 9, 2009 during the winter break between the first and second semesters of his first year of Law School.

Following the birth of their second child in 2017, the family relocated from San Jose, California to Austin, Texas, settling in the Westlake neighborhood at 1308 Shannon Oaks Trail.

They have two children:

• Baker Sellars (born October 10, 2014)
• Maxyn Sellars (born July 11, 2017)

Both children were born at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, California.

Career

Eric's professional career began in Intellectual Property Law. While in law school, he spent two summers in San Jose, California:

• First summer: Interned at the IBM Almaden Research Lab.
• Second summer: Interned at Hickman Palermo Truong and Becker (HPTB).

Following law school, he joined Hickman Palermo Truong and Becker as an attorney at their 1 Almaden office in downtown San Jose, California. He later joined the firm Wong & Rees in Santa Clara, California, working in an office complex across from the 49ers stadium.

Before moving back to Texas, he worked at Nicholson De Vos Webster & Elliott, located at 99 Almaden in San Jose. He is currently employed by Cloudflare.

Social History

During his years at the University of Texas at Austin, Eric lived with friends Brian Beal, Ryan George, Joe SanDone, and Brett Appolito.

In California, Eric and Erin Sellars were frequent visitors to the San Jose Racquet Club, where they spent a significant amount of time playing tennis.

Currently, the Sellars family are active members of the Westlake Country Club in Austin, Texas. They spend a significant amount of time at the club as a family, primarily playing tennis and golf.
